The Calm Beyond the Void

The Calm Beyond the Void

The moment after the last breath,
air shifts to something dark and cold,
and you find a calm that finds you—
a peace that is not of this world,
but of the primordial light cradling all souls.

Beyond the galaxies, outside time’s realm,
beyond life, stillness reigns supreme.
The light arrives as a quiet helper,
with mercy and no demands,
and in grace, it bathes the soul —
the departed, weary traveler.

In life, darkness looks endless,
like that of a hole deep and cold,
but death beckons light.
It is the absence of pain,
and the embrace of grace.
It is not the final end,
but the end of suffering.

And so we sing a farewell song,
to those who went not to a place of dread,
but to a place of peace,
to seek the light beyond the dark places,
where divinity calls us softly,
long after we have gone,
away from the world we once knew.
