To My Friend

To My Friend

When you think you’re feeling lazy,
With your life just going crazy,
And you don’t know what to do,
Remember, there’s a friend just for you.

Start with me, I’ll be waiting for you there;
Don’t part with me, I want you everywhere.
Talk with me, there is so much to say;
Walk with me, I’ll take you all the way.

What is it that you’re thinking about?
Don’t you worry, just come out.
Problems may be in queue,
But all I want is some time with you.

A friend may be quiet like the night,
Another, intense and full of light.
But still, I have taken an oath
That I will equally love them both.

There may be more worries to come,
And they may stick to you like gum.
But I give you my word, I’ll be there,
With all my heart, I’ll help you anywhere.

Why does your heart ache all the time?
Don’t you know your worries are also mine?
For heaven’s sake, stay away from trouble,
And keep your mind sharp on the double.

I have one last thing to say:
Whatever may be the world’s way,
If there is a day to play,
It is today, it is today.
