Road Safety: Stay Away from Blind Spots Near Large Vehicles

Lately, I came across a shocking news report about an old lady who sadly lost her life after being crushed while trying to cross the road in front of a temporarily stationary bus. Watching the YouTube video (embedded below) sent a chill down my spine.

Road danger alert:

Always stay away from the front side or the back of buses, trucks, or other large vehicles that appear to be stationary on the road or wherever else.

There are times when drivers may not have the presence of mind to notice people or any objects entering these blind spots. Suddenly getting into such spots around vehicles on the road can be disastrous.

So, keep a distance and stay safe! Also, drivers should take extra care to double-check these blind spots before starting the vehicle from a stationary position or making any sudden sharp movements or changing direction or speed.

This safety tip applies to:

  • Pedestrians
  • Bicycles
  • Two-wheelers
  • Other small vehicles
  • Drivers of large vehicles
